The History of Mosquito Consolidated
After assuming control of Mosquito Creek Gold Mining Limited in 1987, Mosquito Consolidated management explored surrounding properties and immediately secured rights to two additional claim groups - Island Mountain and Cariboo Gold Quartz. The three properties comprise the Cariboo Gold Project currently, and remain reliable assets in the company's expansive portfolio.
In 1994, Mosquito Gold optioned 50% interest in the Cariboo Gold Quartz claim group to International Wayside Gold Mines Limited. At a time when the resource industry was severely distressed and high-profile resource companies were suffering major financial losses, the resulting option revenues enabled Mosquito Consolidated to advantage the economic environment and enter an aggressive acquisition phase.
Over the ensuing decade, Mosquito Consolidated, with the help of forward thinking investors, purchased or optioned high-potential properties in low political risk environments in North America and Australia. Today's Mosquito Consolidated Gold Mines Limited has a well-researched, diverse portfolio of high-potential gold, molybdenum, copper, and aggregate projects, underscored by valuable rhenium, indium and gallium by-products.
Supported by renewed interest in resources, global production shortfalls of precious and base metals and escalating long-term demand from Asia and India, Mosquito Consolidated is entering an exciting, extended new era of growth and earning value for shareholders.
Recent investment financing and impressive option and royalty revenues are fueling the company's aggressive new exploration and development program.
Origins of the Name
In 1991, the current management of Mosquito Consolidated Gold Mines Limited assumed control of Mosquito Creek Gold Mining Company Limited and its high-potential Mosquito Creek claim group in eastern British Columbia. Under new management, name equity and project assets grew exponentially, and today the Mosquito name is well know in resource circles around the world.
