| | April 17, 2006 Mosquito Commences Drilling on Statlu Aggregate Deposit.
|
| | The Board of Directors of Mosquito Consolidated Gold Mines Ltd. wish to report that a sonic drill has arrived at the Statlu Aggregate project located east of Mission B.C. and will commence drilling two to three >100 meter core holes. The drill will produce and undisturbed sample which will be used to determine the type and quality of sand and gravel products that can be produced. Levelton Consultants Ltd. will supervise the drilling and material testing providing a 43-1001 compliant independent report on the drilling.
Drill hole locations were determined from the results of a seismic refraction geophysical survey. A total of 7.5 kilometers of seismic refraction has been completed on the southern portion of the Statlu Creek Aggregate project. The seismic study results indicates the presence of a large basin in bedrock measuring 1457 meters long and 1216 meters wide with thickness of sand and gravel material ranging from 25 to 168 meters in thickness. The area study represents approximately one sixth of the identified aggregate area within the project claim block. The block is large enough to initiate quality studies on the sand and gravel material. Once the quality of the sand and gravel material is established Mosquito plans to complete additional drilling and seismic work, produce a 43-101 compliant reserve for the project and commence a environmental impact study leading to a project feasibility study
A total of 15 samples were taken by Mosquito's qualified person, weighing between 6 to 15 kilogram were taken at sand and gravel exposures throughout the southern part of the Statlu Creek aggregate project. These sand and gravel areas are exposed at various elevations throughout the area. Samples were taken as continuous vertical profiles across the vertical range of the exposure. Each sample was weighed and then sieved to --50 mesh and passed through a spiral concentrator to produce a black sand concentrate. The black sand concentrate was then shipped to Acme Laboratories of Vancouver for gold analysis using a gravimetric finish.
Results indicate that the black sand is enriched in gold with values ranging from 85.23 gms Au/tonne (2.49 oz Au/ton)to 931.65 gms Au/ton (34.79 oz Au/ton), Table 1. The average of all samples 420.67 gms Au/tonne (12.27 oz Au/ton) of black sand. The amount of black sand recovered from the gravel varied from sample to sample; overall it would take 11,800 tonnes of gravel to produce 1 tonne of the black sand concentrate. This ratio is a lot higher that the 177 tonnes produced by the initial sample. This probably reflects a increase in black sand volume in certain areas of the stratigraphic section.
The samples have confirmed that the black sand component in the matrix of the sand and gravel is enriched in gold over the area. Further work is required to determine a more accurate estimate of the volume of black sand that can be expected from the sand and gravel.
Samples from the drilling will be analyzed to produce a black sand concentrates which will be analyzed for gold to determine the vertical distribution of gold in the sand and gravel. Indications are that the black sand is easily recovered using gravity concentrators and given the results the gold could prove a significant by-product. Further studies involving larger volumes of sand and gravel are recommended.

Original sample is sieved to --50 mesh and than passed through a spiral concentrator to produce black sand concentrate which is then weighed and analyzed by the laboratory. Gold recovered from the samples has been saved by the laboratory for further analysis. Mr. Shaun M. Dykes, M.Sc. (Eng), P.Geo., Director of Mosquito is the designated qualified person Mosquito's Project., and prepared the technical information contained in this news release.
